About 20 years ago, I began using acupuncture for sciatica from disc herniations when little else helped—CPT, exercise, yoga—and I’ve always refused to take OTC or prescription medications for pain. As a healthcare professional, I was aware of acupuncture’s medical use in China—even for heart surgery, brain surgery, and childbirth—so I was open to a complementary medicine approach to address my severe, recurring low back pain and sciatica.

In the two months leading up to this cruise, I had also been suffering from severe posterior neck pain that disrupted my sleep every night. As a certified personal trainer (my encore career), I tried multiple methods to release the muscle tension—likely caused by jaw clenching—but nothing worked.

I’ll admit, I was skeptical, but Martina said she could help. After just one treatment, I slept through the night pain-free. I know that may not be typical after only one session—but it worked. Martina is highly professional and, most importantly, effective. I’m so glad I chose to pursue acupuncture.
